I’m Makayla!

I’m from the Charlotte, NC surrounding area and my love for photography started when I was a kid, but it really grew in high school when I took broadcasting. Later, while studying business in college, I realized I could turn that passion into something bigger—and that’s how Makayla Film & Co. came to life.

When I’m capturing a wedding, my goal is simple: I want you to enjoy your day to the fullest while I preserve the memories you’ll treasure forever. From raw, in-between moments to breathtaking portraits, I focus on telling your story in a way that feels real and timeless. I strive to create beautiful work that feels timeless and creative at the same time.

But I’m not just a wedding photographer and videographer. I have a genuine love for helping small businesses showcase their brand, capturing the energy of sports, and photographing couples in all stages of life. For me, every project is an opportunity to tell a story worth remembering.

Get to know me a little…

Outside of photography, I’m a wife, dog mom, and travel lover (honestly, I’m on the go more than I’m home!). I’m happiest near the beach, out hiking or kayaking, playing pickleball or hosting friends for a cozy get-together. I love staying involved in my church, finding new places to explore, and soaking in simple, meaningful moments. I’m a big Georgia Bulldogs fan, a DIY enthusiast, and I never say no to a little shopping, good music, or a campfire night with family and friends.
